HB 102 Summary

• Requires the Department of Transportation to mandate Traffic Impact Studies or Traffic Operational Analyses for all development or redevelopment projects that increase population density beyond the site's pre-application levels.

• Mandates analysis of at least three intersections closest to each project entrance/exit and at least one signal-controlled intersection if none of the three primary intersections have traffic signals.

• Requires a full Traffic Operational Analysis for projects exceeding 50,000 square feet or when a Traffic Impact Study shows a 10% or greater increase in traffic at the closest intersection.

• Requires all Traffic Impact Studies and Traffic Operational Analyses to identify all bridges within a half-mile radius that are listed in a state publication.

• Directs the Department of Transportation to annually publish a public notice identifying any bridges the State classifies as needing reconstruction or repairs.
