Requires the State Fire Prevention Commission to promulgate regulations for floor proximity emergency lighting in all new buildings, occupancy conversions, mixed occupancy buildings, and additions/repairs to existing buildings.

Emergency lighting fixtures must activate automatically within 5 seconds of power loss or fire alarm activation, provide illumination for at least 90 minutes, be fully-recessed within 36 inches of the floor, and be UL924 listed and ADA compliant.

Mandates floor proximity exit signs located 6-18 inches from the finished floor at all exit access and exit doors, in addition to existing exit sign requirements.

Exit signs must illuminate automatically within 5 seconds of power loss or alarm activation and be either UL924 listed (internally illuminated) or UL1994/ASTM E 2072 compliant (photoluminescent), with minimum 60 minutes of illumination for internally illuminated signs.

For exit doors, signs must be mounted on or adjacent to the door with the nearest edge within 4 inches of the door frame.
