Request DelDOT conduct a feasibility study for a road connection allowing vehicles towing boat trailers to exit southbound State Route 1 north of the Nassau Overpass and travel under the overpass directly to New Road in Lewes.

Study must consider two scenarios: one where the current active rail line continues in use, and another where the rail line is terminated west of the overpass to make the entire underpass available for transportation uses.

DelDOT must provide a report to the Legislature by January 31, 2011, detailing whether such a connection is achievable, conditions for achievement, alternative approaches, and approximate costs and consequences.

Resolution addresses increased boat trailer traffic to the relocated Lewes Boat Ramp by proposing an alternative to the current difficult median crossing on SR1, utilizing existing DelDOT-owned land adjacent to the Nassau Overpass.
