Senate Bill 126 Summary

• Replaces the "Governor's Advisory Council on Planning Coordination" with the "Cabinet Committee on State Planning Issues" throughout Delaware Code Titles 9, 22, and 29.

• Shifts deadline for county and municipal annual implementation reports to the Office of State Planning Coordination from anniversary dates to July 1 each year (starting July 1, 2012).

• Authorizes the Cabinet Committee to extend the five-year deadline for counties and municipalities to submit comprehensive plans upon written request submitted at least 90 days before the deadline.

• Permits the Cabinet Committee to develop optional format and guidelines for county comprehensive plan reports, with the Office of State Planning Coordination providing assistance if the Committee chooses to do so.

• Explicitly authorizes the Office of State Planning Coordination to prepare the "Strategies for State Policies and Spending" document and maps as the primary policy guide for state land use goals and spending decisions.
