Honors young women from Delaware high schools participating in the 2011 session of Delaware Girls State held during the week of June 20, 2011.

Recognizes 48 named female students from public and private high schools across Delaware who received hands-on training in the legislative process and state government operations.

Acknowledges that participants elected their own state officials including Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, State Auditor, State Insurance Commissioner, and members of both legislative houses.

Commends the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion for sponsoring this educational program dedicated to teaching youth about representative democracy and the American political system.

Extends congratulations to all participants and expresses hope that some may pursue future careers in elected office, with copies of the resolution to be presented to delegates and the sponsoring organization.
