Judge Edward G. Davis was appointed as a Justice of the Peace by Governor Sherman W. Tribbitt in 1974 at age 35 and was reappointed seven times by five governors of both parties over his 36-year career.

Davis served as the court system's legislative liaison designated by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and was responsible for developing a substantial body of legislation that improved court operations and services to Delaware citizens.

Davis was recognized for his extensive learning, wisdom, sense of humor, and dedication, earning respect from both judicial colleagues and legislators.

As an advocate for hunting and fishing rights, Davis worked to promote sensible regulations for all Delawareans in those areas.

The Senate commends Judge Davis for his extraordinary contributions to Delaware over 36 years and extends best wishes for his retirement in Sussex County.
