Commends the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency for their efforts to protect people and property during man-made or natural disasters.

Recognizes DEMA's development of state-of-the-art emergency response plans, partnerships with the National Weather Service, and implementation of the Delaware Emergency Notification System (DENS) for public warnings.

Encourages DSHS and DEMA to continue developing and improving emergency response plans to address the emergency needs of Delaware residents.

Urges DSHS and DEMA to continue educating the public on family emergency preparedness, including obtaining emergency supply kits, making family emergency plans, and understanding appropriate responses to different threats.

Notes the state's participation in National Preparedness Month each September to encourage Delawareans to prepare themselves and their communities for potential emergencies.
