Prohibits employers from requiring or requesting employees or applicants disclose passwords or account information to access their social networking site profiles.

Prohibits employers from requiring employees or applicants to log into social networking sites in the employer's presence to provide direct access to their profiles or accounts.

Prohibits employers from accessing employee or applicant social networking profiles indirectly through other social networking contacts.

Prohibits employers from discharging, disciplining, or refusing to hire individuals who refuse to disclose social networking information protected under this Act.

Exempts financial services industry employers subject to SEC, FINRA, or other financial regulators from these restrictions when conducting internal investigations or complying with supervision requirements.
