Establishes a new survivor's pension benefit equal to three-quarters of a member's compensation for primary survivors of employees who die in the line of duty.

Increases the ordinary survivor's pension from one-half to three-quarters of final average compensation when death occurs in the line of duty, while maintaining the one-half benefit for deaths not in the line of duty.

Requires the State Office of Pensions to pay retroactive benefits under this act for primary survivors of members who died in the line of duty on or after July 1, 2009.

Renumbers pension code subsections from (b), (c), and (d) to (b), (c), and (d) respectively to accommodate the new line-of-duty death provision.
