Exempts new motor vehicles that achieve a combined fuel economy rating of 45 miles per gallon or better from the Delaware motor vehicle document fee, as estimated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The exemption sunsets three years from the date of enactment unless extended by later-enacted legislation.

The motor vehicle document fee is collected by the Division of Motor Vehicles and deposited to the Transportation Trust Fund to finance roads, highways, and other transportation facilities.

This exemption is added to the existing list of exemptions from the motor vehicle document fee, which include renewal registrations, vehicles for resale, and government-owned vehicles.
