Allows schools that are members of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association and offer interscholastic contact or collision sports to use academic excellence units to hire a licensed athletic trainer employed by the school.

Licensed athletic trainers must be licensed by the Delaware Board of Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers.

Use of academic excellence units for hiring athletic trainers is discretionary, not mandatory for school districts.

Prohibits school districts from using pupil units provided under § 1703 of Title 14 to employ a licensed athletic trainer.

Amends § 1716(c) and § 1716(d) of Title 14 of the Delaware Code to implement these provisions.
