Honors 51 young women from Delaware public and private high schools participating in the 2011 Delaware Girls State session held June 20-27, 2011 at Legislative Hall in Dover.

Recognizes participants' hands-on training in the legislative process, state government operations, and the American system of representative democracy through study of elections, legislative procedures, committee systems, and political debate.

Acknowledges that Girls State participants elected from their ranks a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, State Auditor, State Insurance Commissioner, and members of both houses of the General Assembly.

Commends the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion for sponsoring this educational program to ensure youth understanding and appreciation of American government.

Extends congratulations to all participants and expresses hope that some may pursue future careers in elected office.
