Commends the Delaware State Dental Society for its Ninth Annual Give Kids a Smile program, which provided free dental services to underserved children on February 11, 17, and 18 at locations in Millsboro, Wilmington, and Middletown.

Recognizes that over nine years the Give Kids a Smile campaign has treated 1,341 individuals and donated services and supplies exceeding $500,000.

Notes that 73% of Delaware State Dental Society members participate in Medicaid and CHIP programs, compared to 6% in New Jersey, 13% in Pennsylvania, and 16% in Maryland.

Highlights improvements in dentist-to-population ratios across Delaware counties, with all counties now meeting federal benchmarks, including Sussex County at 4,200:1, Kent at 3,700:1, and New Castle at 1,800:1.

Acknowledges successful initiatives including student loan repayment programs, reserved spots at Temple Dental School, and recruitment efforts through the Delaware Institute of Dental Education and Research (DIDER).
