Honors 51 young women from Delaware high schools participating in the 2012 session of Delaware Girls State held during the week of June 18, 2012 at Legislative Hall in Dover.

Recognizes that participants gained hands-on training in the legislative process, state government operations, elections, committee systems, and the American system of representative democracy.

Notes that Girls State participants elected their own Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, State Auditor, State Insurance Commissioner, and members of both houses of the General Assembly.

Commends the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion for sponsoring this educational program and expresses hope that some participants may become future elected representatives.

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to each delegate and to the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
