Acknowledges that over 21,000 females and over 9,000 males in Delaware suffer from eating disorders, and up to 24 million people nationally are affected.

Notes that eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness and that anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among adolescents.

Encourages the Department of Health and Social Services to research methods to prevent and raise awareness of eating disorders.

Highlights the absence of organizations, facilities, programs, or residential treatment options for eating disorders in Delaware.
