Silent alarm system must be linked to local law enforcement authorities and immediately transmit a signal upon activation without producing an audible alarm inside the school.

Tasks each school board of education with ensuring these silent alarm system requirements are met in all schools under their jurisdiction.

Maintains existing requirements for adequate fire extinguishers and monthly fire drills in public schools.

Preserves existing provisions requiring school districts to notify emergency services of access gates and provide keys to enclosed school property areas.
