Designates April 8, 2014, as "Volunteer Firefighter Day" throughout the State of Delaware.

Recognizes over 6,000 volunteer firefighters in 60 fire companies operating 81 fire stations that serve Delaware's 800,000 residents.

Notes volunteer fire companies answered more than 130,000 calls for assistance in the previous year, responding to emergencies approximately every eight minutes.

Acknowledges volunteer firefighters' willingness to serve at any time in any weather and put their lives at risk for public safety.

Urges Delawareans to extend appreciation to volunteer firefighters and consider volunteering as part of the "Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Make a Difference Campaign" recruitment effort.
