Recognizes the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC) on its 35th anniversary as a wholesale public utility serving 9 Delaware municipalities (Clayton, Dover, Lewes, Middletown, Milford, New Castle, Newark, Seaford, and Smyrna) and over 126,000 customers.

Acknowledges DEMEC's formation in 1979 as a non-profit quasi-public corporation authorized by legislation in 1978 to secure and supply competitively priced and reliable electric energy to member municipalities.

Highlights DEMEC's investments in green energy initiatives, including 46% of Delaware's installed solar capacity, 69 MW of wind power from Laurel Hill Wind Farm, and over $72 million invested in generation facilities and electrical infrastructure.

Notes DEMEC's generation capacity including the 100 MW Beasley Power Station in Smyrna and a 92 MW stake in the Fremont Power Center in Ohio, as well as provision of legal, technical, and training support to member communities.

Proclaims April 30, 2014 as Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation Day in honor of the organization's 35 years of service.
