Affirms that breastfeeding is the best form of infant nutrition and supports the Surgeon General and American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life.

Recognizes that mothers have the right to choose the best feeding options for their babies and themselves, including breast milk or iron-fortified infant formula.

Directs all State Departments to collaborate with families and communities to increase maternal and infant nutrition education and awareness from pregnancy through the first year of life.

Protects mothers' ability to receive complete and balanced information on all infant feeding options before birth, in the hospital, and after discharge.

Acknowledges the Affordable Care Act requirement for employers to provide reasonable break time and private space for employees to express breast milk for up to one year after birth.
