Delaware joins the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact (IWVC), an interstate agreement adopted by 39 states including Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to enhance compliance with hunting, fishing, and wildlife laws.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Fish and Wildlife is directed to implement all provisions of the IWVC and recognize all current and future member states.

DNREC must adopt and begin implementation of the Compact on or before July 1, 2016, with authority to request a maximum three-year extension from the General Assembly if technological or capacity challenges prevent timely implementation.

Delaware will share hunting, fishing, and trapping license suspensions with other compact member states, preventing violators convicted of wildlife crimes in one state from conducting those activities in other member states.

DNREC is authorized to make a formal application to the IWVC Board of Administrators to receive full admission and representation as an official member of the Compact.
