DE HB2

Requires police officers who perform uniformed patrol duties or are assigned to sex crime investigative units to complete at least 2 hours of training every 4 years on detection, prevention, and prosecution of sexual assault, with training staggered so half of eligible officers complete it in each 2-year period.

Mandates that all persons enrolled in approved police training schools receive evidence-based, victim-centered, and trauma-informed training in the detection, prosecution, and prevention of sexual assault.

Requires assistant and special assistant prosecutors regularly assigned to criminal cases involving sexual offenses, including all Sex Crimes Unit lawyers, to complete at least 4 hours of specialized training every 3 years on sexual assault prosecution.

Specifies that prosecutor training shall be evidence-based, victim-centered, trauma-informed, and include education on mandatory reporting requirements under state and federal law, provided by the National College of District Attorneys or other organization approved by the Attorney General.
