Prohibits charter schools from discriminating against students in the admissions process based on the student's residence's proximity to the school

Eliminates the existing preference that allowed charter schools to give priority admission to students residing within a 5-mile radius of the school

Maintains other existing admission preferences including siblings of current students, children of school founders (up to 5% of enrollment), students in the same school district, at-risk students, and children of school employees

Effective date of August 1, 2015
