Notes that Delaware's student population with autism increased 695% between 1991 and 2012, requiring preparation of adult services for increasing numbers of young adults needing support.

Acknowledges the financial, emotional, and social challenges faced by families of individuals with autism and the ongoing support needs of adults with autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

Honors individuals diagnosed with autism, their caregivers, and their families throughout the state during the designated awareness month.
