Recognizes June 19, 2015, as "Juneteenth Independence Day" in Delaware, commemorating General Gordon Granger's announcement of emancipation in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865.

Acknowledges the 150th anniversary of Juneteenth and notes that this date marks when enslaved people in the Southwest learned of their freedom, nearly two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Encourages Delaware residents to reflect upon the significant roles and contributions of African-Americans throughout Delaware and national history.

Calls for appropriate celebrations and events on Juneteenth that honor the legacy of those who endured and overcame slavery.
