Honors young women from Delaware public and private high schools participating in the 2016 Delaware Girls State session held at Legislative Hall in Dover during the week of June 20, 2016.

Recognizes that participants received hands-on training in the legislative process and state government, including electing a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, State Auditor, State Insurance Commissioner, and members of both houses of the General Assembly.

Commends delegates for learning about bill procedures, elections, legislative caucus and committee systems, majority and minority positions, and other aspects of representative democracy.

Extends best wishes to participants for future success and expresses hope that some may return as elected representatives to the House or Senate.

Thanks the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Delaware for sponsoring this educational program and commits to providing copies of the resolution to all 2016 Girls State delegates and the program sponsor.
