Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 27 Summary

• Establishes a Clean Water and Flood Abatement Task Force to study and make recommendations on improving water quality and alleviating flooding in Delaware.

• Task Force comprises 24 members including 4 legislators (2 Senate, 2 House), 3 state agency secretaries, county representatives, and designees from environmental organizations, businesses, and labor unions.

• Two co-chairs—one appointed by the Senate President pro tempore and one by the House Speaker—oversee administrative duties including setting meetings, preparing notices and reports, and submitting final recommendations.

• Task Force must begin meeting within four weeks of passage, meet at least monthly, meet at least once in each county, and submit recommendations to the Senate President pro tempore and House Speaker no later than January 31, 2016.

• Senate Majority Caucus provides reasonable support staff and materials for Task Force operations.
