Commends Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) employees for their response to Winter Storm Jonas in January 2016, which lasted 30 hours and brought 17.2 inches of snow to some areas.

DelDOT workers cleared 12,310 lane miles of snow and 111 miles of sidewalk, using 15,891 tons of salt valued at $1,006,149.15 during the storm response.

595 DelDOT employees worked 34,510 hours of overtime at a cost of approximately $1,040,476 before, during, and after the storm.

Expresses gratitude for the dedication of DelDOT staff who worked away from family during dangerous conditions to maintain roadways and prevent economic hardship to Delaware.

Encourages all Delawareans to minimize travel during and immediately after winter storms to assist transportation department efforts.
