Commemorates the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, signed into law on October 15, 1966, which established national policy for protecting historic buildings, structures, landscapes, and archaeological sites.

Recognizes the Act's positive impact on Delaware and the United States over 50 years, including identifying and protecting historic properties, revitalizing downtowns, and preserving significant heritage elements.

Acknowledges Delaware's Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs as the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and its role in administering state preservation programs and assisting Delawareans in protecting historic resources.

Notes the Act's achievements including nearly 700 historic properties listed on the National Register in Delaware, creation of the Federal Preservation Tax Incentives Program, and Delaware's Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program that have created jobs and attracted investment.

Directs the Senate Secretary to distribute copies of this resolution to the Delaware Historic Preservation Celebration 2016, the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, National Park Service Director, and other relevant federal and state officials as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation for the Act.
