Recognizes 2017 as the 50th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision In re Gault, 387 U.S. 1 (1967).

Acknowledges that the Gault decision established that children charged with delinquency are entitled to Constitutional due process protections, including the right to legal counsel, timely notification of charges, protection against self-incrimination, and the right to question witnesses.

Commends the Delaware Office of Defense Services for its continuing mission to provide legal representation to every child charged with an act of delinquency in Delaware.
