Honors approximately 87 young women from Delaware high schools participating in the 2017 Delaware Girls State session held during the week of June 18, 2017 at Legislative Hall in Dover.

Recognizes participants' hands-on training in the legislative process and state government, including election of a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Treasurer, State Auditor, State Insurance Commissioner, and Secretary of Education among their ranks.

Commends participants for studying election procedures, legislative caucus and committee systems, majority and minority positions, and other aspects of representative democracy during the week-long session.

Thanks the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Delaware for sponsoring this educational program and commends its dedication to promoting youth understanding of American government.

Extends congratulations to each delegate and expresses best wishes for their future success, with hope that some may one day serve as elected representatives in the House or Senate.
