Designates March 12th through March 18th, 2017, as Sunshine Week in Delaware to increase awareness about open government and transparency.

Recognizes Sunshine Week as an annual national initiative created in 2005 by the American Society of News Editors and coordinated with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

Acknowledges House Bill No. 1 of the 145th General Assembly, which brought the Delaware General Assembly under the state's Freedom of Information Act and opened legislative meetings and records to the public.

Encourages Delaware citizens to recognize Sunshine Week and educate themselves on their Right to Know regarding government transparency and access to public information.

Affirms that open government and transparency are core democratic values that stimulate active citizenship and well-functioning government.
