Senate Bill 142 Summary

• Eliminates the Delaware Compensation Commission, which previously established salaries and remuneration for state officials including the General Assembly, Governor, cabinet members, judges, and other state officers.

• Removes provisions requiring the Commission to submit compensation reports every 4 years and the automatic implementation of those reports unless rejected by joint resolution within 30 days.

• Transfers salary-setting authority for the State Treasurer and county prothonotaries to the Delaware General Assembly through line item appropriations rather than Commission recommendations.

• Repeals sections 3301-3304 of Title 29 that defined the Commission's composition, chairperson duties, remuneration study requirements, and report procedures.
