Increases minimum sentence for possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony from 2 years to 5 years at Level V.

Increases minimum sentence for possession of a firearm during commission of a felony from 3 years to 6 years at Level V, or from 5 years to 10 years if defendant has 2+ prior felony convictions.

Increases minimum sentences for prohibited persons possessing firearms or destructive weapons: from 3 to 6 years if previously convicted of violent felony; from 5 to 10 years if possession occurs within 10 years of violent felony conviction; from 10 to 12 years if convicted of 2+ violent felonies.

Increases minimum sentences for prohibited persons who negligently cause serious injury or death with a firearm: from 4 to 7 years; from 6 to 12 years if within 10 years of violent felony conviction; from 10 to 20 years if convicted of 2+ violent felonies.

Elevates prohibited firearm possession under certain circumstances to class B felony to align felony classifications with mandatory minimum sentences imposed.
