Automatically suspends child support orders by operation of law when a parent is incarcerated or involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility for 180 consecutive days or more.

Suspension does not apply if the incarcerated parent has means to pay support, is incarcerated for domestic violence against the custodial relative or child, or is incarcerated for failure to comply with a child support order.

Suspended child support orders resume automatically on the first day of the first full month after the parent is released from incarceration or involuntary commitment.

Requires the Division of Child Support Services to develop implementation procedures with the courts and Department of Correction, and to report evaluation results to the General Assembly by November 1, 2021.

Expires July 1, 2022, unless extended by subsequent legislation.
