Notes that cystic fibrosis affects approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States, with about 1,000 new cases diagnosed annually.

Highlights that more than 75% of cystic fibrosis patients are diagnosed by age two, and over 45% of the patient population is age 18 or older.

States that median survival age for cystic fibrosis patients has increased to 37 years, compared to the 1950s when few children lived to attend elementary school.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
