Expands the definition of Assault in the Second Degree (a Class D felony) to include intentional physical injury to hospital security officers and other health care treatment providers employed by health care providers.

Adds code enforcement constables and code enforcement officers to the list of protected professionals who can prosecute assault charges when injured while performing lawful duties.

Extends protections to all persons providing health care treatment or employed by a health care provider, broadening coverage beyond previously specified nurses, doctors, and paramedics.

Addresses increasing workplace violence against healthcare providers by clarifying that assaults on these workers while performing work-related duties constitute second-degree assault.
