HB338 Summary

• Expands engineering licensure recognition to include graduates from programs accredited by Washington Accord signatories, providing equal status to EAC of ABET-accredited graduates with four years of required engineering experience.

• Allows the Council to issue licenses to International Professional Engineers (IntPE) registered under the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) upon application and proof of five years of post-licensure experience.

• Permits Model Law Engineers designated by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) to receive administrative licensure without Council review.

• Reduces the required professional engineering experience for comity licensure from ten years to five years of continuous and verifiable experience, and requires applicants to hold current licenses in good standing from originating jurisdictions.

• Allows licensees to use embossing seals, rubber stamps, or digital seals instead of requiring only embossed seals, with new licensees having six months to submit proof of their Delaware seal to the Council.
