Designates April 11-17, 2019 as Black Maternal Health Awareness Week in Delaware.

Acknowledges that Black women in the U.S. experience pregnancy-related complications twice as often and die from pregnancy-related complications four times as often as White women.

Notes Delaware's Black infant mortality rate is 12.5 per 1,000 live births, 2.3 times higher than the White infant mortality rate of 5.1 per 1,000 live births.

Recognizes Delaware's commitment to reducing maternal mortality and morbidity through initiatives including the Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium, the Delaware Perinatal Quality Collaborative, and the OB Hemorrhage Initiative.

Invites community members and health care professionals to participate in activities during Black Maternal Health Awareness Week to raise awareness and promote efforts to reduce maternal health disparities.
