Designates January 23, 2020, as "Maternal Health Awareness Day" in Delaware to raise public and professional awareness about maternal health, safety, and mortality issues.

Addresses rising pregnancy-related mortality in the United States, which increased from 7.2 deaths per 100,000 live births in 1987 to 16-17.8 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2009-2012.

Highlights that Black women experience pregnancy-related death rates of approximately 41 per 100,000 live births, which is 3 to 4 times higher than rates for white women.

Recognizes promising initiatives to reduce maternal mortality including the Safe Motherhood Initiative (ACOG), the Postpartum Hemorrhage Project, and the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) program being implemented in Delaware.

Encourages community members and health care professionals to participate in activities promoting maternal health and safety while supporting the development of new programs to address maternal health and mortality.
