Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was founded January 13, 1913, at Howard University and has over 300,000 members in more than 1,000 chapters worldwide

Six Delaware chapters (Wilmington Alumnae, Dover Alumnae, Epsilon Alpha at Delaware State University, Mu Pi at University of Delaware, Sussex County Alumnae, and Middletown Alumnae) represent nearly 700 members

Delaware chapters focus on Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness through programs including Delta GEMS, Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, and EMBODI

Members provide scholarships, support underserved communities, conduct voter registration drives, and implement health and economic programs statewide
