Designates June 21, 2022 as "Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler Day" in Delaware

Honors Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, born February 8, 1831 in Christina, Delaware, who became the first Black woman to earn an M.D. degree when she graduated from New England Female Medical College in 1864

Recognizes Dr. Crumpler's contributions to medicine, including her work with the Freedmen's Bureau and missionary groups to provide medical care to formerly enslaved people after the Civil War

Acknowledges Dr. Crumpler's 1883 published book "A Book Of Medical Discourses," believed to be the first medical text written by a Black author

Requests the State issue a proclamation urging Delaware residents and state departments to observe the day with ceremonies and honor the contributions of Black women to science and medicine
