Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks for people with disabilities including vision impairment, physical limitations, and cognitive challenges.

Therapy dogs provide mental health benefits by reducing stress and anxiety, decreasing loneliness and isolation, and improving self-confidence in clinical, school, and home settings.

Therapy dogs provide physical health benefits including decreased blood pressure, regulated breathing, reduced pain, and increased participation in activities.

The House recognizes and supports service and therapy dogs, their volunteers, and organizations including PAWS for People and the Delmarva Region of National Capital Therapy Dogs for their public service to Delaware.

Copies of the resolution will be presented to PAWS for People and the Delmarva Region of National Capital Therapy Dogs.
