Cap monthly cost-sharing for diabetes equipment and supplies at $35 per covered individual, regardless of the amount or types needed to fill prescriptions.

Define diabetes equipment and supplies to include blood glucose meters and strips, urine testing strips, syringes, continuous glucose monitors and supplies, and insulin pump supplies.

Apply the $35 monthly cap to deductible payments and cost-sharing amounts after deductibles are met, except for high deductible health plans and catastrophic health plans.

Exclude accident-only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care, disability income, and other limited benefit health insurance policies from the requirements.

Take effect 6 months following enactment and apply to all policies issued, renewed, modified, altered, amended, or reissued after December 31, 2023.
