Initial state of emergency proclamations by the Governor may continue for up to 60 days without requiring General Assembly approval.

Any renewal of a state of emergency beyond 60 days requires Governor's finding of ongoing necessity and must be approved by the General Assembly.

General Assembly shall meet at least monthly to consider renewal orders and amendments, with each renewal approval limited to 30 days or shorter periods as needed.

General Assembly approval requirement for renewal orders may only be suspended with consent of the Senate President Pro Tempore and House Speaker during dire emergencies where a quorum cannot convene.

Non-weather related emergency orders issued within 6 months of a prior order's termination and based on substantially similar reasons are invalid unless approved by the General Assembly; closures of businesses or religious facilities must specifically identify which entities are affected.
