Elizabeth W. Murphey School was established in Dover, Delaware in October 1922 and is marking its 100th anniversary in 2022.

School was founded by Sanford S. Murphey as a tribute to his mother and serves as a residential facility providing group care and transitional housing for homeless children ages 6 to 18, sometimes up to age 22.

Facility offers professional assessment, tutoring, therapeutic support services, school participation encouragement, and a transitional living program for young adults ages 18-22 to help prepare residents for independence.

Resolution extends congratulations and best wishes from the Delaware General Assembly to the students, staff, and directors of the Murphey School for a century of service to Delaware youth.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to the school upon passage.
