Up to 30 million Americans suffer from eating disorders during their lifetime, with an estimated 26,000 females and 11,000 males in Delaware affected

Economic costs associated with eating disorders were estimated at $64.7 billion in fiscal year 2018-2019

Eating disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of any mental illness, including increased suicide risk

Encourages the Department of Health and Social Services to research methods to raise awareness of, prevent, and treat eating disorders, noting Delaware currently lacks eating disorder-specific organizations, facilities, or residential treatment options
