Designates April 2 through 8, 2022, as "Week of the Young Child" in Delaware to commemorate the 51st anniversary of this annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Recognizes that the early childhood years from birth through age 8 lay the critical foundation for children's success in school and later life, with this period being characterized by the most rapid brain development.

Acknowledges the complex and valuable work of early childhood educators and calls on community members to support increased access to high-quality early childhood education for children and families.

Emphasizes that high-quality early childhood education is a revenue-generating investment that provides benefits to individuals, families, and state and national economies while helping ameliorate poverty and detect developmental delays.

Calls for early childhood educators to earn family-sustaining wages commensurate with their education and skills, along with basic workplace benefits including health insurance, retirement, and paid leave.
