Honors the memory and celebrates the life of Pierre S. du Pont IV, who served as Governor of Delaware from 1977 to 1985 and died on May 8, 2021, at age 86.

Recognizes du Pont's career achievements including service in the Delaware House of Representatives (1968), U.S. House of Representatives (1971-1976, three terms), and two terms as Governor.

Acknowledges his major legislative accomplishments as Governor, including the 1981 Financial Center Development Act that made Delaware a national banking and credit card industry center, creating 40,000 jobs.

Notes his post-gubernatorial contributions including founding an early online political magazine, serving as chairman of the National Review Institute (1994-1997), and writing a monthly Wall Street Journal column (2000-2014).

Extends condolences to his widow, Elise Ravenal Wood du Pont, and directs that copies of the resolution be given to the du Pont family.
