Extends the validity period of Class D temporary instruction permits for applicants age 18 or older from 6 months to 12 months.

Removes the $5.00 extension fee and one-time 6-month extension option previously available to applicants who failed the examination; permits now become void if the applicant fails to pass the required examination during the 12-month period.

Maintains the requirement that temporary permit holders must be accompanied by a licensed operator over age 21 seated beside the driver, with no more than 2 additional persons in the vehicle.

Applies these changes effective April 1, 2025, with the Act taking effect 60 days after enactment.
