Grants 1 year of experience credit to graduates who complete a year-long Delaware Institute of Higher Education teacher residency program, provided they meet all requirements under § 1281 of Title 14.

Experience credit is granted in addition to any other experience already credited under § 1312 of Title 14, which affects salary step placement on the salary schedule.

Applies only to teachers hired after August 9, 2023.

Also grants 1 year of experience credit for every 2 years of full-time experience as a Title 1 or instructional paraprofessional in a public school, but only to teachers hired after August 9, 2023.

Goal is to incentivize new Delaware graduates who complete the residency program to teach in Delaware by elevating their starting pay grade level.
